Salon Policies

Please review our salon policies before booking. By scheduling an appointment with BRAIDED New York, you agree to the terms below.

01

Booking & Deposits

All appointments must be booked through our online booking system. A deposit is required to reserve your appointment time and is applied toward your final service total.

Deposits are non-refundable. Your appointment is not confirmed until the required deposit has been received. If you book the wrong service or need help selecting a style, please contact us before booking so we can guide you.

02

Cancellations & Rescheduling

Please give at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations or reschedule requests made with less than 48 hours notice will result in forfeiture of the deposit.

You may reschedule once with proper notice and have your deposit transferred to the new appointment. Additional reschedule requests may require a new deposit.

03

Late Arrivals

Please arrive on time and ready for your appointment. We allow a 15-minute grace period. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, your service may need to be shortened, adjusted, or rescheduled.

If we cannot complete the scheduled service because of a late arrival, your deposit is forfeited and a new deposit may be required to rebook.

04

No-Shows

A no-show is any missed appointment without notice before the scheduled start time. No-shows forfeit the deposit and may be required to pay the full service cost or a larger deposit before booking future appointments.

Repeated no-shows may result in being unable to book future services with BRAIDED New York.

05

Hair Preparation

Please arrive with hair that is clean, fully detangled, and stretched or blown out unless your booked service includes wash or prep. Hair should be free of heavy oils, gels, product buildup, knots, and tangles.

Hair that is not properly prepared may require an added detangling or prep fee, a modified service, or rescheduling. Hair must generally be at least 4 inches long for braiding services.

06

Braiding Hair & Extensions

Braiding hair is not included unless a service description specifically says otherwise. Clients may bring their own braiding hair, or purchase hair in the studio when available.

If you are unsure what type, color, length, or quantity to bring, contact us before your appointment. Hair and extension purchases are final sale once purchased or used.

07

Pricing & Service Changes

Prices shown online are starting prices and may vary based on length, size, density, design complexity, hair condition, add-ons, and time required. Your stylist will confirm any meaningful price changes before beginning the service.

Changes requested at the appointment may not always be possible if they require more time than was booked. Additional services, add-ons, or style upgrades may increase the final price.

08

Service Satisfaction

Please speak up during your appointment if you have questions or concerns about size, length, parting, tension, color, or styling direction. We want to make adjustments while you are still in the chair whenever possible.

Due to the time and labor involved in braiding services, completed services are non-refundable. Concerns after leaving the salon must be reported within 48 hours and will be reviewed at our discretion.

09

Children & Guests

We welcome clients who are scheduled for services. To maintain a focused, safe, and comfortable salon environment, please avoid bringing extra guests or children who are not receiving a service unless necessary.

If you bring a child or guest, they must remain under your supervision and may not interfere with services, tools, staff, or other clients.

10

Health & Safety

Please tell your stylist about scalp sensitivities, allergies, injuries, recent chemical services, or hair-health concerns before your appointment begins. We reserve the right to decline or reschedule a service if it may compromise your hair, scalp, our staff, or other clients.

Clients with active lice, ringworm, open sores, contagious illness, or other health concerns that affect salon safety will be asked to reschedule.

11

Photography & Media

We may photograph or record finished styles for portfolio, social media, educational, or promotional use. If you prefer not to be photographed or recorded, please tell your stylist before your service begins.

Clients are welcome to take personal photos and videos in approved areas, as long as other clients and staff are respected.

12

Privacy & Booking Data

We collect information needed to book and manage appointments, including your name, phone number, email address, service history, notes related to your appointment, and payment or deposit information processed through our booking provider.

Your information is used to schedule services, communicate with you, process payments, improve service quality, and meet business or legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information. Appointment and payment activity may also be subject to Square Appointments' own terms and privacy policy.
